Dr Sarah Boxall – BSc (Hons.), ARCM[PG], PhD CPA, EPA, ETMA, EDA

Sarah is a Chartered Patent Attorney, European Patent Attorney and a US Patent Agent. Sarah gained a BSc (Hons) degree in Biochemistry and Pharmacology from the University of Southampton and a PhD in Neuropharmacology from University College London. Sarah joined the patent profession in 1998 and spent 4 years in private practice in London followed by 4 years in industry before returning to private practice in Cambridge.

Gillian Herrod-Hempsall – BSc, CPA, EPA

Gillian graduated from Bristol University in 1972 with an honours degree in Microbiology. After starting in private practice she then worked in the pharmaceutical industry for 7 years, where she qualified in 1976. She then moved back into private practice where she has been ever since.

Derek Jackson – MSc, BSc Tech, CPA, EPA, ETMA

Derek has represented clients of all sizes before both the UK Intellectual Property Office and the European Patent Office and has considerable experience of securing protection for clients around the world. Derek’s background as a chemical engineer has allowed him to work in a wide range of technical fields including mechanical, electro-mechanical and computer-related inventions in addition to chemical processes.

Dr Timothy Locke – BSC, MSc, PhD, CPA, EPA

Dr Tim Locke has over 40 years experience in the profession and is a Chartered Patent Attorney and European Patent Attorney. His academic background is chemistry and he worked for 30 years with ICI and 7 years with Zeneca and Avecia before acting on a freelance basis.

Keith Mansell – MA(Oxon), CPA, EPA

Keith entered the patent profession in 1965, working as a patents assistant at the Wellcome Foundation. After qualifying as a Chartered Patent Attorney he subsequently became the Senior Patents Officer for the UK Atomic Energy Authority, specializing in materials and electrochemistry, until 1989. Keith moved to Exxon Chemicals (latterly Infineum), where he worked as Patent Counsel and Patent Portfolio Manager until 2003.

David Warrilow – MSc(Chem), MSc(IP), CPA, EPA, RTMA, ETMA
Coordinating Patent & Trademark Attorney

David graduated from Birmingham University with a Masters degree in chemistry before obtaining a further Masters degree in Management of Intellectual Property from Queen Mary University, London. When qualifying as a UK trademark attorney David was awarded the Payne/Bennett Memorial prize by the Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys for the highest mark that year in the trademark search paper. David joined the profession in 2001, and worked with major firms of patent and trademark attorneys before founding London IP in 2009.
